Blog 12- Witness Testimony: Samneric (Eric)

Chapter 1:
Well, we were running around the island, wondering where everyone was, and we heard Ralph blow the conch. Of course, we didn't know it was Ralph then. When we got there Piggy (such a nice bloke) took our names and asked us to have a seat on the rock. After everyone's names were taken, Jack and his hunters walked up the beach. He was quite rude, it was obvious that he was in charge. We all decided that we should have a proper leader, and everyone (except for Jack and his followers) voted for Ralph as leader. Jack was pretty upset, and Ralph tried to calm him down by electing him leader of the hunters. The hunters were Jack's followers, which kept them away from us.

Chapter 2:
Ralph called a meeting to discuss affairs and such. Jack abruptly interrupted and began to get excited about pigs being on the island and killing them (in a quite creepy way). His eyes got all big, as if he was a kid in a candy store. Same for punishments. Jack wanted to physically harm anybody that didn't follow his rules. Ralph changed the subject, trying to forget about punishments for a while. Then, this boy began to talk about the beast. He was crying, truly frightened. Poor mate. Piggy was awful nice to him, Ralph was a little perturbed. We don't know how we got to the subject (we stopped paying attention, that beast scared us), but Jack decided to make a fire. We all rushed up the hill, following Jack. We were all really excited. Then the fire got out of hand, and the little boy who talked about the beast was dead.

Chapter 4:
Jack painted his face, muttering the entire time about bloodying up a pig. He had this snarl in his voice that was terrifying. Of course, we were interested in this pig hunt, so we joined. After a long day, we were victorious. We carried the pig, swinging it back and forth while we were walking up the hill. Ralph was at the top with Piggy and Simon waiting for us, and he wasn't that happy. He had said that a ship had passed, but it didn't stop because the fire was out. Poor bloke, I think he thought we could've been rescued. Jack didn't hesitate to use the pig as an excuse. What frightened us was that he used the pig's blood as an excuse. He kept saying "You should've seen all the blood!"

Chapter 5:
Ralph had an assembly. He tried to talk about important things, like keeping the fire going, not peeing upstream of the water supply or on the fruit, and building huts. The meeting turned to chaos when someone mentioned the beast. We all knew not to speak of it in front of Ralph, he got quite upset about it. Of course, someone had to mention it.

Chapter 6:
We were on duty at the fire, and we really didn't want to fall asleep on the job. Ralph had been really paranoid about keeping that fire going, and we didn't want to cross him. That's when we saw the beast. We went down to the assembly, screaming all the way. We might've exaggerated a bit about what we saw; but we were so scared, we didn't know what we were saying.
