Blog 10 - Fallen

"My specs! They've taken my bloody specs!" Piggy squealed. We can't believe that Jack would sink as low as to steal Piggy's glasses. We mean, Jack has not only practically blinded him; but they've taken away our signal fire. Jack's not even going to use his fire as a signal, he's going to cook on it. Deep down, we know that Jack wants this nightmare to end and to go home to singing sopranos. But where would we go if we get rescued? Mum passed years ago from scarlet fever, and dad's out fighting in the war. Has the war ended? What has happened to England? We hope we can go home to a nice, warm bed.

Ralph tried to comfort Piggy, and we've been assigned to make sure nothing happens to Piggy. Poor bloke, he can hardly see the ground! Ralph agrees with us, that Jack was wrong to take the specs. We can just imagine Jack and his savages doing that demon dance, killing off the first person to get in his way. Let's hope it's not us.

We decided to head up to Castle Rock to get the glasses back. Boy, was that a bad idea. After nearly an hour of leading Piggy up the hill, we encounter Roger. Ralph tried to calmly ask for the specs back, but all hell breaks loose when Jack returns from one of his hunting trips. We peered behind Jack to see a headless body of a motionless pig. We shuddered, remembering Simon and the dirty attack. Ralph tried to stay composed, but Jack jokingly poked him with his spear. Ralph brought out his spear and they began to joust. It was like watching the ballet, them dodging and weaving.

We had nearly forgotten about Piggy during the duel. Out of the corner of our eyes, we saw Roger pull a lever at the top of the barricade. Suddenly, a large boulder began to tumble from the wall. Before we could warn him, Piggy was hit by the boulder. Piggy flew at least 40 feet, and we heard the crack of bones braking. We didn't dare look at him, we already knew what we would see.

Ralph and Jack continued to duel, only now with their bare hands. Ralph was hit really hard, but he didn't stop fighting. We think Piggy meant a lot to Ralph, and to see Piggy die that way...

After the fight, Ralph backed away and the savages took a hold of us. After hours of torture, we have been initiated into Jack's tribe; and Ralph is alone.
